Appliance Replacement Offer ( NSW)

If you upgrade your fridge or television to a more energy-efficient model, you may be able to get a discount through the Appliance Replacement Offer.

If you’re eligible, you could save:

  • 40% off the cost of a new fridge
  • 50% off the cost of a new television.

Who’s eligible?

To receive this offer you must:

  • be a New South Wales resident
  • hold 1 of the following:
    • pensioner concession card
    • Health Care Card or Low Income Health Care Card from Centrelink
    • DVA Gold Card.

To replace your fridge it must be at least 10 years old.

To replace your television it must be a plasma or cathode ray tube (CRT) display.

How to apply
  1. Check that you are eligible for the offer.
  2. Click on the ‘Apply online’ button (below).
  3. Select the type of concession card you’ll be using.
  4. Provide your concession card details.
  5. Enter details of the appliance you’re replacing.
  6. Upload a scanned copy or picture of your ID.
  7. Fill in your personal details.
  8. Click on ‘Submit’.

Your application will take up to 3 business days to process. If approved, you’ll receive instructions on how to buy your appliance through The Good Guys retail shops.

Things to keep in mind
  • You can browse available fridge and television models online, or in one of The Good Guys stores.
  • The program allows for the purchase of 1 fridge and 1 television per household.
  • Television delivery does not include channel tuning, connecting the television to other devices or wall mounting.
  • Discounts are subject to NSW Government funding and NSW Office of Environment and Heritage approval.
  • If you don’t meet the eligibility requirements, you may be able to access the offer by directly contacting a participating community service organisation.
What you’ll need

When you apply for the discount, you’ll need to:

  • have a Pensioner Concession Card, a Low Income Health Care Card, a Health Care Card or a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Gold Card
  • provide your contact details
  • own a suitable appliance to be replaced when the new appliance is installed
  • pay the balance of the cost after discount, when ordering the new appliance.
